I have yet to find peace when i step into my home church. I believe my older brother to have been a victim. Hope he finds the peace he seeks living in silence. The scandal opened the door for me to research an learn other teachings traditions love my indigenous religious rituals. No different frm what some people call pagan. Thanks to the church Im on a spiritual journey based on truths. If I fail its on me I was given all the tools to be a good Person. I try.

One of the boys I grew up with in my neighborhood came from the All American-Mexican homes. That is, his parents both had white collar jobs, he & his brothers went to Catholic high schools and tragically he was one of key figures in the scandal when it broke. He resorted to alcohol and drugs to try to cure himself of the memory, destroyed two marriages, and lost his license to practice law. My memory of him as a boy will always be precious to me as we shared our youth together. His last name close in the alphabet to mine ensured we always sat next to each other, somehow. His is the face I see, the memory I miss, the childhood friendship when I hear of this horror. He died in 2009 from alcohol abuse.
